Conference and event organisers from all over UK and overseas are increasingly exploring the diverse destination of Chester & Cheshire for their events. Our focus on this inspiring destination continues with a look at some of its more unusual venues – from the wild and wonderful to the stately and sedate.
Ideally situated just south of Manchester International Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, the destination is easily accessible from all over the globe. Chester Zoo, Blue Planet Aquarium and the world-famous Tatton Park are just a few of the diverse range of high-quality conference venues offering exacting standards of service and affordable quality, making Chester & Cheshire, as their conference bureau puts it, ‘exclusively for everyone’.
Tatton Park is a stunning historic venue with first-class facilities. Set in a thousand acres of Cheshire parkland with wild deer, beautiful meres and ornamental gardens, the park has several areas that can be hired for meetings, conferences, and private dining.
Tatton Park’s largest indoor venue is the Tenants’ Hall, which was previously Lord Egerton’s private museum. This is probably one of the most individual venues in Cheshire, and can hold up to 400 theatre style. Lord Egerton’s apartment is situated on the first floor of the mansion, and is a self-contained conference area. This suite of rooms – ideal for smaller meetings or private dining for up to 40 guests – overlooks the Italian Terrace, and provides stunning views of the parkland and distant Pennines.
Tatton Park’s expert events team takes a very flexible approach. In booking your event at Tatton you’ll benefit from an efficient and personal service, from initial enquiry through to the day itself. One of the venue’s co-ordinators will personally take charge of your event and finalise your requirements. They will also be on hand on the day itself to ensure all runs as smooth as possible.
The venue’s day delegate rate includes tea and coffee, a two-course buffet lunch, LCD projector, laptop, screen and flipchart, and starts from £50 per delegate. It also offers a wide range of team activities including the diamond maze, a junkyard challenge, treasure hunts, and off-site raft-building and dragon boat racing for the more adventurous.
The Blue Planet Aquarium provides the definitive ‘wow factor’ for any event, being home to the UK’s largest collection of sharks, including sand tigers. This stunning backdrop to any presentation features day conference facilities that can be combined to provide space for 120 in theatre style, and can be sectioned to three separate rooms accommodating 40 each – perfect for break-out or separate lunch locations.
The Blue Planet is available for evening events, offering exclusive use of the aquarium, and guided tours are available on request. A range of fine menus can be tailored to individual requirements. The Blue Planet is just 20 minutes from the M6 and junction 15 of the M56, so the venue is accessible and easy to find, and it has plenty of free parking.
