The InterContinental Hotels Group knows all about quality, so to be named the group’s Hotel of the Year is a considerable achievement. This prestigious title was awarded in 2006 to the Holiday Inn London Bloomsbury, a modern and stylish property in an attractive and quiet part of London’s West End, that offers 310 comfortable guest rooms and some of the best conference and meeting facilities in central London.
As well as the impressive facilities, the award was given for the high degree of personal service given at the hotel to its numerous business guests and leisure visitors, which becomes apparent as soon as you walk into the spacious and elegant foyer. The ground-floor public areas have recently undergone a major programme of refurbishment, the result of which is an elegant, contemporary style that combines simplicity and comfort, and an impressive sense of space.
Like its sister at Regent’s Park, the Holiday Inn London Bloomsbury is situated a short distance from the new international rail terminal at St Pancras, and is already benefiting from a growing number of international business guests, attracted by the hotel’s cosmopolitan feel and level of service. The hotel is also a stone’s throw from Russell Square Tube station – with a direct line to Heathrow airport – as well as the British Museum, the British Library and London’s bustling West End.
The hotel’s extensive conference and meeting facilities come under the Academy brand, exclusive to Holiday Inn properties, which has established itself as a high-quality option for conference organisers, as it brings with it dedicated and well-equipped conference space, a guaranteed level of service, and specialist staff who are experts within their own field.
The Academy at the Holiday Inn London Bloomsbury comprises 15 separate conference rooms, ranging in size from the spacious and airy to the intimate. The largest two spaces, the Booker Suite and the Turner Suite, can be combined to create one large room that will accommodate 300 delegates in theatre style, 250 for a banquet, or 450 guests for a reception. The two rooms can also be divided to house 150 each. The smallest meeting room, the Pulitzer Suite, houses four delegates in boardroom style.
All the conference rooms have break-out space in the Academy’s comfortable and attractive reception areas, where delegates can enjoy unlimited complimentary Starbucks coffee throughout the day, as part of the Academy package. Every conference and meeting room is fully air-conditioned, ensuring maximum alertness among delegates, and all benefit from high-speed internet access and the full range of audio-visual presentation tools.
