Gold standard for IET Venues – and a special New Year offer
At the seventh annual Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA), IET Venues won the Gold Award for Best Brochure - Venues section, beating Wembley Stadium and Visit London which took the silver and bronze positions.
The prestigious MIMAs were created to raise and award the standards of marketing in the meetings and events industry. The ‘Best Brochure - Venues Section’ award not only recognises brochure design and production, it also acknowledges the quality of planning, creativity and execution of marketing campaigns through measuring sales and awareness levels. IET Venues were also a finalist for 'Best Use of Budget'.
After receiving the reward, IET Venues Marketing Manager, Simon Timmis said, 'This award comes at a great time for IET Venues as we build our market profile as a group of high quality venues. The marketing campaigns and brochures themselves required collaboration from all our staff and they deserve this accolade. It is a great testament to their work, especially considering the size and quality of the competition.'
IET Venues operate Savoy Place in central London, Austin Court in Birmingham and the Teacher Building in Glasgow.
January & February Madness
IET’s Savoy Place is offering a DDR of £55 + VAT for daytime events in January and February.

Church House freezes prices for 2010!
Church House Conference Centre in Westminster has committed to holding all of its prices at the current 2009 rate, until March 2011.
The commitment will include all room hire costs and prices for its in house audio visual services. In addition Church House has negotiated a price freeze with its in house caterers Kudos as part of their new five year contract, recently renewed in October 2009.
Commenting on the decision General Manager Robin Parker said; 'It feels the right thing to do in the current climate. We are confident that things will improve next year however prior to the General Election business still looks challenging.'
He continued; 'We are also delighted that Kudos has supported this policy. We are currently working with them to produce brand new menus that will feature fresh local products where ever possible, and that will fit into the current pricing structure.'

Royal Horticultural Halls: green by name, green by nature
As part of its campaign to recycle as much as possible, between 1 September 2008 and 30 September 2009 the RHH recycled 22,895kg of waste, the equivalent of 198 trees.
And if you need any more reasons to give your event the feel-good factor, the Halls support the Royal Horticultural Society - the UK's leading gardening charity, dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting the value of gardening. Through its gardens, shows, campaigns and publications the RHS aims to give as many people as possible the opportunity and the skills to enjoy gardening. So, every time you hold an event at RHH you make a contribution towards achieving the charity’s goals.
Not only that, the Halls have been favoured by many for its CRS policies, including The Prince of Wales’s May Day Summit, Natural England and The InterClimate Network. Natalie Stafferton, InterClimate Network Coordinator, says: 'The Halls offer many solutions to keep the events as green as possible. Easy access to public transport enables visitors to cut their carbon footprint, the venue has plenty of natural light and recycling facilities are readily available. The fact that the Halls encourage green living is an added bonus.'
So, feel good about your event: make a date with the RHH and see what we can do for you!
