The Meeting Industry’s ‘Best of the Best’.

In preparation for the announcement of the third mia-List, we’re profiling a selection of nominated people each week, until the mia-List 2013, the meetings industry’s ‘best of the best’, is officially announced at a special celebratory lunch at Central Hall Westminster, London on 22nd April.

The Finalists.

During summer and autumn of 2012, the industry nominated the people it felt were most deserving of a place on The mia-List 2013, and the judges had the difficult task of choosing a shortlist.

The result is a list impressive individuals nominated for inclusion on The mia-List and over the coming weeks, these will be profiled in myvenues.co.uk, last week we met the first four, now here’s this week’s mia-List 2013 finalists!

Finalist: Emma Maun, Events and Sales Manager, The Lowry Hotel.

Nominator: Helen Hipkiss, PR & Marketing Manager, The Lowry Hotel.

Reason for Nomination: Emma's management skills have seen her team grow to four event planners, responsible for business in excess of £5 million. She has become one of the major 'back bones' to all aspects of the hotel.

Finalist: Emma Raybould, Meetings and Events Office Manager, De Vere Village Urban Resort.

Nominator: Darryl Holdnall, General Manager, De Vere Village Urban Resort.

Reason for Nomination: Emma Raybould is all of the following very inspirational, very motivational, very driven, very dedicated, very passionate. Emma is a huge talent and has already to be a huge benefit to the business.

Finalist: Ian Roberts, Conference Co-ordinator, Foresight Centre.

Nominator: Lesley Dann, Conference and Events Manager, Foresight Centre, University of Liverpool.

Reason for Nomination: Ian is an instant hit with both customers and colleagues. His willingness to help and support colleagues us enlightening and he is often requested as a point of contact for customers.

Finalist: Alexandra Hopkins, Conference and Events Sales Manager, Casa Hotel.

Nominator: Victoria Civill, PR & Marketing Co-ordinator, Casa Hotel.

Reason for Nomination: Alexandra regularly stays late and works weekends, in order to meet with clients at a time suitable to them. She is often asked for by name by new clients who have received recommendations.

The mia List 2013 Celebratory Lunch

Now in its third year, the celebration lunch where the The mia-List 2013 will be announced, has quickly become one of our industry’s must attend events. Quality networking and hospitality complement the highly enjoyable and positive atmosphere, it’s an afternoon of fun, discovery and reward.

Tickets for this year’s lunch on 22nd April at Central Hall Westminster, are available direct from the mia.
