Historic venue.
Built in the late 19th century, the Manor House has had an interesting history. At some time around 1890, Charles Hampton Weeks, a master at Charterhouse School (situated just across the road) built the Manor House for himself and his family. In 1906, the house was passed to the Crisp family.
In the latter part of WW2, the pre-clinical students of St.Thomas Hospital Medical School were evacuated to the Manor House from London.
In the early 1970's, it was agreed that the University of Surrey should take over the Manor House as a hall of residence. The annual beer festival was legendary in the University and amongst the local community! Bought by its sister business, Quest Worldwide Consulting, in 1993, the Manor House immediately underwent a refurbishment to make it habitable and one of the larger meeting rooms was soon in use as an office for the Quest team.
