With major cities such as Leeds, York, Sheffield and Hull offering a versatile range of meeting and hotel accommodation, and rural locations such as the North York Moors providing exclusive resort-style venues, Yorkshire offers an eclectic range of venues for organisers.

There are numerous new developments and refurbished venues across the region, below is a selection of the latest.

13 for 13 at Harrogate International Centre.

Harrogate International Centre (HIC) has enjoyed a strong start to 2013, contracting 13 significant business wins during January worth over £3.5 million to the local economy.

Commenting on the wins, Paul Ashton, Acting Head of Sales said: 'This is fabulous news for both ourselves and the local economy as it is estimated that these 13 events will bring in over £3.5m to the local area. 2013 is set to be a fantastic year for HIC. We have some significant events already booked but 13 signed contracts in the first month of the year is a record. From our point of view, the icing on the cake is the fact that 11 of the events take place this year. Many of these clients have chosen Harrogate for its great central location and the reputation Harrogate has for looking after event delegates.'

Sledmere House provides a wonderful venue for weddings, conferences and many other special occasions. This exclusive and charming country house venue has captivated visitors for over 200 years.

With its impressive architecture and stunning terrace and gardens, it provides a beautiful backdrop for a corporate event.

Sledmere is a Georgian House – and it is also an Edwardian House. Sir Christopher Sykes, 2nd baronet, rebuilt and redecorated the house in the 1790s, but in 1911 it was almost completely destroyed by fire. Fortunately most of the contents were rescued and they can still be seen on view today.
