Conference Centres of Excellence member Woodland Grange has completed an extensive refurbishment of its coffee lounge and bar area. The project complements the Centre’s recent investment in an internet café bar to create an expanded and even more versatile relaxation area for its customers.
The development creates an environment which is more attractive, more spacious and much more practical. The coffee station area has been repositioned and equipped with new state of the art equipment to increase capacity and improve user flow: this helps address the increased volume of customers that the venue is now handling, with 2007 seeing all time record numbers.
While the refurbishment includes an updated traditional bar, that facility is concealed behind movable frosted glazing and will only be opened in periods of particularly high demand. In terms of popularity, this bar area has been superseded by Woodland Grange’s internet café bar – opened two years ago -- with its stylish high stools and tables on a hardwood floor, internet terminals and plasma screen. 'The very modern appeal of our internet café bar has helped it to become the most popular evening relaxation area for our customers,' explained Operations Manager John Turpin: 'Our refurbished traditional bar is a superb facility to have in reserve, but it will be invisible when it’s not in use.'
The new coffee stations use fast flow ‘bean to cup’ technology to produce a freshly brewed cup in 22 seconds. There are new chairs throughout the lounge and bar area, including modular units and bucket seats in four different colours.
The work has been carried out by interior refurbishment specialists Control Group of Milton Keynes. Though a five week installation period had been anticipated, they turned the project round in three weeks with minimal effect on the centre’s customers and daily operations.
'Woodland Grange’s main relaxation areas are now fully integrated and genuinely leading edge in terms of refinement, efficiency and versatility,' added John Turpin: 'Whether our guests want to read quietly over a coffee in a nice soft chair, or have a drink and listen to music in a vibrant modern bar area, they won’t be getting in each other’s way.'
