UVL brochure launch at Tate Britain proves a huge success

02 February

Unique Venues of London’s (UVL) 2010 brochure launch party was a great success as more than 500 guests filled the iconic space at Tate Britain.

The event, held on Monday 1 February, gave UVL the chance to showcase its brand new brochure design and allowed bookers and buyers the opportunity to meet representatives from all 69 members.

Lisa Hatswell, Chairman of UVL and Corporate Sales Manager of the London Eye, said: 'We’re thrilled with the turnout and success of our first ever brochure launch party. It was a real pleasure to have representatives from 69 of our spectacular venues together with clients and suppliers under one roof to celebrate.'

To reflect the brochure, guests were greeted with a timeline projection, depicting the origin of each of its venues, supplied by Event Concept followed by a performance from Private Drama’s ‘Serenity’ act – one of the biggest names in circus entertainment – who performed a stunning aerial act under Tate Britain’s spectacular domed ceiling. Sternberg Clarke livened up the Manton Foyer with DJ Lindsay Evans, a regular on shows such as X Factor.

Adding to this spectacular visual were seasonal floral displays created by Detta Phillips Floral Design, Gail Smith Flowers and Veevers Carter Flowers, as well as sound by Dobson Sound Productions and Sound By Design, and production by Event Concept, Fisher Productions and Wise Productions.

Tate Entertaining served delicious Great British Classics throughout the evening including dishes such as roast Dedham Vale sirloin of beef with Yorkshire pudding and roast Suffolk middle white pork with apple sauce. As well as a variety of food stations including an array of deluxe deserts, a Jing tea bar and crudities made funky on ice.

The event, held throughout three event spaces, also incorporated an information lounge, where 47 prizes were up for grabs, including various tickets to top notch London shows, exhibitions and London Fashion Weekend all donated by UVL member venues.
