 A collection of three superb country house venues – all located within an hour of Central London – has recently opened its doors to corporate guests, providing a choice of attractive and inspirational settings for business events and exclusive private dining.
Each of the three properties – collectively managed by RioEvents – is set within its own extensive grounds, offers excellent conference and event facilities and luxurious accommodation, and benefits from a dedicated team of staff and an in-house chef.
 Silchester House is an impressive Grade II-listed Victorian country mansion, set in magnificent grounds and located half-way between Reading and Basingstoke. The property’s five meeting rooms include the superbly appointed Music Room, which can accommodate up to 80 delegates in theatre style, and the Library and Drawing room, which make excellent syndicate rooms.
A good range of audio-visual and conference equipment for business meetings is available, including a 55” TV, VCR, DVD, OHP, LCD projector, flipcharts, and wireless broadband connection.
 Throughout the year a fully lined and floored marquee is linked to the end of the house, with a capacity of 180 for a sit-down dinner, with dancing following in the Music Room. This gives Silchester House great flexibility for events and makes it a superb party venue.

 Cain Manor is a stunning Elizabethan manor house set in nine acres of landscaped and meadow grounds just south of Farnham, with impressive views across 20 miles of Surrey’s Golden Valley. The original part of this country residence dates back over 400 years, and the property has been discerningly renovated and furnished in a tasteful contemporary style.
The stunning Music Room comes complete with timbered high ceilings and a cathedral window, as well as a minstrel’s gallery that offers a versatile and impressive space for business meetings and entertaining. The room will hold 120 for a seated dinner and 150 for theatre-style meetings.
 Three additional rooms are available, including a further meeting or breakout room for up to 30 delegates. Cain Manor has 11 luxurious bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, including three twin rooms with an option of a further bedroom to share a bathroom. Additional accommodation for large groups is within 10 minutes’ drive of Cain Manor. The property has an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis court and grounds for team-building activities.
 Notley Abbey is a beautifully restored monastic residence – once the home of Sir Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh – set in 69 acres of tranquil Buckinghamshire countryside on the banks of the Thames. This majestic property combines a picturesque original facade with a stylish modern interior which is well suited for business use and entertaining.
Dating back to the 12th century, the Monk’s Refectory can hold up to 160 seated for a dinner; the 16th-century Abbots Hall can hold 150 theatre-style for meetings, and there are three additional rooms ideal for breakouts, drinks receptions, relaxing or for more intimate dining.
 The options at Notley Abbey for both corporate and private events are considerable, both inside and outside. The grounds are a combination of stunningly beautiful manicured lawns, tennis court and fields, which can accommodate a variety of outdoor pursuits suited to team-building and staff motivation.
