Conference Cambridge, the free venue-finding service at the University of Cambridge, is celebrating a prestigious addition to its portfolio of venues, the graceful 16th-century country house Madingley Hall.
Located just three miles west of Cambridge, Madingley Hall is set in beautiful grounds designed by eminent landscape gardener Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, which feature two croquet lawns and a topiary garden. The stately property has recently been the subject of a project to improve access around the building and to create more en suite bedrooms – bringing the current total to 61.
Now used as a continuing education and conference centre, Madingley Hall offers 10 well-equipped and spacious meeting rooms (seating between five and 90 delegates), in addition to a saloon featuring 17th-century tapestries and a fine view of the meadow, lake and woodland, and a Terrace Bar overlooking the garden.
‘We are delighted to have Madingley Hall within our portfolio,’ says Kelly Vickers, Conference Cambridge’s office manager. ‘It’s an excellent addition to the wonderful Cambridge venues we already offer to people organising all types of events – from residential conferences to one-day training sessions or product launches. With its first-class range of facilities, unique location and on-site parking, it is certain to be a popular choice.’
Conference Cambridge was established in 1998 and represents 36 venues including 28 Cambridge colleges, as well as University sites, faculty buildings, the Cambridge University Press and the Møller Centre. A total of 550 function rooms and 6500 bedrooms are available. For more information, please get in touch with the team using the links below.
