New CCV venue for the capital

Cavendish Conference Venues (CCV) has announced that it will be opening its fifth London-based conference centre in January 2009. The Hallam Conference Centre in Hallam Street will occupy a magnificent Edwardian building that is currently undergoing a major rejuvenation programme to restore it to its former glory.

The refurbishment of the inside and outside of the Hallam Street building is being complemented by Cavendish Conference Venues’ comprehensive fit-out of the very latest conference facilities and audio-visual presentation technology. The result will be a spectacular and contemporary environment, conducive to the creation of successful conferences.

Encompassing seven individual areas, all with natural light and air-conditioning, the Hallam Conference Centre will easily accommodate delegate numbers from three to 350. The centre is conveniently located between Great Portland Street and Oxford Circus underground stations, just minutes’ walk from London’s famous shopping areas and visitor attractions.

At the heart of the building, which dates back to 1913, is the Council Chamber on the first floor, whose double-height ceiling and overhanging balconies evoke a feel of a bygone age. The Regent Suite on the ground floor can be used with the Council Chamber for registration, catering and exhibition requirements, and is also suitable for sit-down lunches for up to 130 or fork buffets for 200. The Marylebone, Euston, Oxford and Warren Suites, individually or combined, offer a range of flexible configurations to conference organisers, enabling the space to be tailored to their exact requirements.

The Hallam Café is being created to provide an area for clients to to graze, dine or relax. This area will feature comfortable contemporary seating with free internet, wi-fi and TV facilities, in addition to a spacious dining zone. As with all Cavendish venues, the catering is provided by award-winning food experts, with an unrivalled range of organic and fair trade options on the menu.

January’s launch will follow the opening of CCV’s fourth venue later this month. The America Square Conference Centre (pictured left), a spectacular new conference and meeting space located in the heart of the City of London, is set to open its doors on 29 September.

The Hallam Conference Centre will continue CCV’s commitment to reducing the conference industry’s carbon footprint. CCV is the only venue group in London to be awarded a coveted Green Mark for its environmental practices, and every effort has been made to ensure that the Hallam is one of the greenest conference centres in London.
