Staff at the Magna science adventure centre in Rotherham are celebrating after picking up an award for Outstanding Customer Service at last week’s White Rose Tourism Awards at the Spa, Bridlington. The award – which was given to John Heaps (pictured holding the award), Magna’s senior visitor services co-ordinator – comes just a week after the venue was awarded for Exceptional Customer Service at the Hospitality Sheffield Awards.
‘We’re delighted that John has won another customer service award on behalf of Magna,’ says the venue’s managing director, Matthew Beck. ‘It is a reflection of John’s hard work, experience and passion – which bring Magna to life for our visitors. The Outstanding Customer Service Award is a very competitive award, and we are delighted one of our staff has received the recognition for their efforts.’
Magna, which was also shortlisted in the Visitor Attraction of the Year category, is a science centre that combines futuristic technology and interactive challenges with visionary architecture. Based in the former Templeborough steelworks, the building has retained a number of original features including hulking hooks and cranes and winding passages, giving the venue a unique atmosphere.
Another of Yorkshire’s other top attractions, the Deep in Hull, came away from the White Rose Awards with the Sustainable Tourism Award. Both the Deep and Magna are members of the Yorkshire’s Magnificent Venues group.
Magna is available to hire for conferences and corporate events. For more information, please get in touch with the venue via the links below.
