Boasting superb facilities for all sporting occasions, the English Institute of Sport Sheffield (EIS Sheffield) is home to elite athletes such as heptathlete Jessica Ennis and the GB Olympic boxing team – and an ideal venue to inspire and motivate.
Not only does the venue offer bespoke corporate events and team-building activities, but it gives delegates unique access and insight to some of the leading sports personalities from the world’s of boxing, athletics and snooker. It also offers the time to relax after an event at the high-tech leisure and fitness facilities.
The team at EIS Sheffield pride themselves on offering something different. While holding a conference in one or all three of our seminar rooms, delegates are invited to keep their motivation going with a sporting competition such as netball, badminton, volleyball or any other team sports. You could even get in the ring and try a few punches in the Combat Hall with the resident boxing coach, former Commonwealth champion Herol ‘Bomber’ Graham.
To relax and enjoy something less physical but just as demanding, event planners can book an evening with one of the best snooker players in the country after the conference. The World Snooker Academy in EIS Sheffield is the only academy internationally and attracts training camps from all over the world.
This opportunity to play with and against some of snooker’s finest players will provide an experience to remember for years to come. With single-frame matches between guests and coaching from the likes of Peter Ebdon or Mark Selby, the stakes are high. The overall winner gets to play with a snooker legend, and guests will all enjoy fine dinning and entertainment along the way.
EIS Sheffield comes complete with three seminar rooms with interactive whiteboards, which can be tailored to your needs: pick from one room or expand across all three with the potential to seat 120 guests. The seminar rooms are next door to the café for all your catering requirements.
A recent event, the National Transplant Games, saw the Annual General Meeting held in all three seminar rooms, as well as a snooker competition upstairs, an assault course in the Badminton Hall, and the provision of 500 packed lunches in the café. This displays the diversity of this venue – and the fact that you can have everything under one roof and the weather won’t spoil it.
Situated in the sports quarter of the city and with ample free parking, EIS Sheffield is easily accessible from the M1 Junction 34 and is just a short journey to the city centre. With access to many hotels on its doorstep, you can be your time with EIS Sheffield is one to remember.
