Tourism Ireland unveiled its ambitious vision for Ireland’s business visits and events industry at EIBTM last week. The announcement included the destination’s aspiration to increase the annual economic contribution of business and sport related travel to over €1billion by 2013.
One of the key drivers of the announcement is the dramatic advances in the destination’s already world class business tourism product. Developments including Terminal 2, The AVIVA Stadium, Titanic Quarter, Odyssey Arena and a special update on the Convention Centre Dublin were all released as part of Ireland’s Vision to 2013.
'Ireland is about to make its stand on a European stage. We face an incredibly exciting period ahead of us with some of the most iconic venues nearing completion in Ireland,” comments David Boyce, Head of Business & Sports Tourism. “We have the ambition to back up this advancement in product and EIBTM was the perfect opportunity to share this with our clients across the world.'
Tourism Ireland also celebrated in a more light-hearted way with its Green Invasion after party. Taking place at the Opium cinema, 10pm – 1am, Wednesday 2 December, the green themed extravaganza was recognised as one of EIBTM’s exclusive tickets.
