InterContinental Hong Kong announces the opening of Nobu InterContinental Hong Kong, as a new addition to the hotel’s renowned restaurants. Nobu is regarded as the world’s most acclaimed Japanese restaurant, known for its innovative new-style Japanese cuisine.
Nobuyuki Matsuhisa – known as ‘Nobu’ – is the internationally acclaimed and highly influential chef proprietor of Nobu, Matsuhisa and Ubon restaurants located around the world, from Beverly Hills to New York City, London to Tokyo, Aspen to Milan, Las Vegas to Miami Beach.
With the opening of Nobu InterContinental Hong Kong, Nobu Matsuhisa now has 17 restaurants in 13 cities around the world. Nobu InterContinental Hong Kong is the 6th Nobu to open internationally and the first in Asia outside of Japan.
Nobu’s original restaurant, Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills, California was an instant success since its 1987 opening and became a magnet for food lovers and celebrities alike. It was here that Nobu’s longtime friendship and business relationship with Robert De Niro began. It was at De Niro’s urging that they opened NOBU in New York City in 1994. Like Matsuhisa, Nobu was a hit; and the success story and business partnership has continued with the opening of Nobu restaurants internationally.
Nobu InterContinental Hong Kong showcases Nobu’s innovative Japanese cuisine with signature dishes such as fresh yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, black cod saikyo yaki, toro tartar with caviar, white fish tiradito, sashimi salad with Matsuhisa dressing, rock shrimp tempura, soft shell crab roll, new style sashimi, as well as new creations featuring local ingredients.
