Holiday Inn heading for Istanbul airport |

 A brand new Holiday Inn is set to open in Istanbul in Summer 2007 after an agreement was signed between InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and the DENK Turizm Insaat Yatirim Isletmecilik ve Ticaret A.S. When it opens, it will be the largest mid scale branded hotel in Istanbul, offering 327 guest rooms.
Holiday Inn Istanbul Airport North will be in a prime position, just 8km north of the city, close to key transport hubs of Ataturk Airport, the Trans European Motorway and the national bus terminal. It will also be located in the heart of a developing business district and conveniently close to the CNR and TUYAP Exhibition Centres, the largest in Turkey.
As a result the new hotel will predominately cater for business travellers as well as stop over passengers, airline crews and visitors to the exhibition centres. The hotel is expected to offer excellent meeting and accommodation facilities tailored for the needs of international business travellers.
The hotel will also feature two restaurants, two bars and a coffee shop, as well as a fitness centre complete with indoor swimming pool, Turkish bath, sauna, steam room, beauty centre and massage treatment rooms. Underground car parking will also be available for guests.
Robin Wicks, chief operating officer, Holiday Inn Brands Europe, commented: ‘This new hotel supports our strategy of focusing Holiday Inn growth on key cities at the crossing points of major European business and leisure traffic flows, and will be the largest midscale branded hotel in Istanbul, bringing our room count there to 1,332.’

IHG is already established in Istanbul with two Holiday Inn hotels, one Crowne Plaza and one InterContinental hotel.
