Nottingham Convention Bureau announces Fam trip 2010

13 January

Nottinghamshire Convention Bureau has set an impressive target of generating an extra £1million of new business tourism within the next five years, in advance of its upcoming annual familiarisation event.

The two day event, targeting UK based corporate and association buyers, will showcase a host of major county-wide attractions and venues, such as Nottingham Arena and Nottingham Castle over 25-26 March.

It will also feature a gala dinner, stylish drink reception, and exciting activities, including a ghost walk, sightseeing treasure hunt and wine tasting sessions.

The intention is for attendees to get a real understanding of what Nottinghamshire can offer for conferencing and corporate events.

'The 2009 event went down a storm with the travel and hotel booking agents we hosted, with some describing it as one of the best ‘fam’ visits they had ever attended!” commented Andy Melton, conference tourism coordinator.

'We therefore have very high expectations this year, and as a result, are confident that the trip will assist us in reaching our £1million target by 2015, ultimately helping Nottinghamshire become one of the first choice destinations for business tourism in the UK.'

Running alongside, The Nottinghamshire Venue Show, hosted at the East Midlands Conference Centre, will allow guests to talk to many of Nottinghamshire’s key suppliers, hotels and entertainment venues all under one roof.

Complementary First Class train tickets to the event from selected UK locations will be provided, as well as transportation between the hotels and the receptions.
