 Square Meal’s Venues & Events exhibition returns to London’s Old Billingsgate on 17 and 18 September 2008. Specifically designed for the corporate event organiser, this year’s show has been extended to showcase more than 250 new venues and event suppliers, filling four floors of exhibition space.
The event will showcase Square Meal’s selection of the best restaurants and bars, and includes a free seminar programme. All visitors to the show will also receive a free breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea courtesy of Office Diner.
 A new feature this year is the inaugural Square Meal Canapé Cup, an exciting competition that is designed to set the gold standard for caterers and venues that provide canapés for events. A selection of exhibitors from all sectors – including catering exhibitors and venues with affiliated caterers – are being encouraged to submit canapés for the competition, and with an exhibitor list featuring premium venues and caterers across London and the UK, the calibre of entries is expected to be particularly high.
Pre-registered visitors have been invited to apply to become ‘VIP tasters’, some 200 of whom will be picked to judge the 10 best submitted canapés at an exclusive tasting party during the show, on the evening of 17 September. First, second and third places will be announced at the exhibition, and the overall winner will be presented with the Square Meal Canapé Cup.
Square Meal is an annual restaurant, bar, venues and events guide that includes more than 2,700 independent restaurant reviews and lists some 1000 venues and events companies.
