There has been significant interest in the seminars at this year’s re-launched academic venue show. Over 50 per cent of the visitors registered to date have expressed an intention to attend either one or both of the seminars and Tessa Sanderson’s keynote speech.
The academic venue show will be taking place at the Business Design Centre, Islington on 24th May 2007 and both the seminars and keynote presentation are free to attend. Peter Rand’s seminar will focus on ’Ten Vital Steps For An Inspirational Event’, at 11am and Mike Lyon will be speaking about ‘Researching Venues For Your Next Event’, at 2pm.
Tessa Sanderson is currently an Olympic Athlete Ambassador to London and Newham 2012 Olympics. Her presentation will focus on venue sourcing, including reasons to consider using venues in the East End. Tessa believes the future for the area is bright and the Olympics will lead to a new regeneration that will transform the East End and Newham.
Tessa herself has booked academic venues in the past, and has found the facilities to be particularly suitable for her requirements, flexible in terms of the types of events that can be held, and professionally run. Tessa’s presentation starts at 3.30pm.
The show gives event organisers the opportunity to speak to representatives from 50 venues in one day, and is an excellent opportunity to find out more about the range of facilities available. Visitors can also take advantage of promotions being held on the day by a number of venues, including booking discounts and complimentary stays when making group bookings.
The new 2007 – 08 Venuemasters directory will also be launched at the show, containing listings for over 80 academic venues, including venue contact details, rates and facilities.
