National Venue Show visitorship announced |

Confex Group has announced the following visitor information from this year’s National Venue Show:
Due to differences in the auditing of the visitor numbers at the show, it is difficult to establish clear and accurate year-on-year figures. Confex Group will now be auditing the National Venue Show so it has its own dedicated audit; correct year-on-year comparisons will then be available after next year’s event.
- Pure visitors – those that come through the main entrance of the National Venue Show – showed a slight increase on 2005 from 2,500 (approximately) to 2,589
- Total attendance numbers at the show were fractionally lower year on year with attendance of 5,236 for 2006 compared to 5,400 (approximately) in 2005
- The reduction in total attendance numbers is attributed to the lower cross over from the National Incentive Show, situated alongside the National Venue Show
- The Confex Group will now take over the full marketing and promotion of the National Venue Show to take it forward.
Duncan Reid, director, Confex Group, commented: ‘One of the most positive aspects of this year’s National Venue Show is that exhibitor re-bookings are already up 61 per cent year-on-year. I believe this underlines their faith in the involvement of the Confex Group and the National Venue Show brand. It is now our job to promote the show over the next 12 months, and take it to the next level.
‘There are four main areas we are concentrating on: improved database, co-location with other marketing function shows (Customer: Strategy & Management and Call Centre Expo), the re-branding of the exhibitor’s suppliers area (Exhibiting & Events Live) and a year round marketing resource. The marketing campaign for next year’s National Venue Show has increased by 40 per cent,’ concludes Reid.
The National Venue Show 2007 will be held from the 25th – 27th September 2007, at the NEC, Birmingham.
