 Venuemasters, the consortium of UK academic venues, has announced that the 2009 Academic Venue Show will take place on 13 May at the Emirates Stadium in London (pictured), home of Arsenal Football Club. The event is set to be a ‘buzzing’ experience, featuring a number of exciting new developments – including the move to a prestigious and high-profile venue.
The theme for the 2009 exhibition is ‘creating a buzz at your next event’. In addition to around 50 exhibitors, there’ll be a celebrity guest speaker plus two seminar sessions led by industry experts. Other highlights include catering demonstrations, entertainment, a CV advice centre, and the opportunity to take a tour of the impressive stadium.
Over 75 per cent of stands were sold in the first week following the launch, and academic venues from locations across the UK have been keen to get involved.
Exhibitors have welcomed the new developments for 2009 – including Marcus Wilson, marketing manager at Keele University, who says: ‘The team at Venuemasters constantly surprises with great ideas for the show, and this time is no exception with the real wow factor of a new venue. We didn’t hesitate to book our place as there are some exciting prospects – celebrity speakers, university chefs showcasing the best the sector has to offer, and once again the prospect of coming face-to-face with event buyers looking for the wow at their next event.’
Visitor feedback at last year’s show was extremely positive, and Venuemasters are looking to repeat this success in 2009, as marketing manager Jo Mitchell explains: ‘The whole team is excited about the prospect of holding the exhibition in a new, stunning venue, and supporting this with a number of other factors to create a real event buzz. Stands are selling well, and we’re hoping to make this event the most successful yet.’
The 2009 show website will be launched in October, and will include details of all the new developments and how to register to attend the event.
